Zdzieszowice coking plant - Brief & Production
"Zdzieszowice" Sp. z o.o. coking plant is the largest and most modern Polish coke producer and also one of the most modern coking plants in Europe and in the whole world. This is also the biggest tax payer in Polish Opole voivodship - all the taxes flow from there to parish budget, county budget and voivodship budget. In 2006 Zdzieszowice coking plant produced more than 4 million tons of coke, which is about forty percent of national coke production and one percent of global coke production.
Whole Zdzieszowice coking plant's production installation area is very large and it is about two hundred hectares. There are two production lines in this area and each one works in another chamber charging systems (the first one in the tampered system and the second one in the intake system).
Each of these lines with all additional facilities is as big as average modern European coking plant.
Annual coke manufacturing capacity of Zdzieszowice coking plant is over four million tons of high-quality Polish coke. One of the by-products, coke oven gas, after purifying is used mostly in various technological processes. All the gas surplus is sold to industrial customers. During the purification process Zdzieszowice coking plant produces such useful by-products like coke-oven tar, ammonium sulfate or benzol.
